about

I learnt this song from my mum who used to sing in a Folk band in the 70s. I feel like it is part of my childhood though it's not from my culture. It is a Spanish Sephardic Folk song. I recorded it for my 'Black is the colour' album and then felt inclined to visit it in a different way with Paul Kilvington, a great Jazz piano player who I respect enormously. This is quite a different interpretation harmonically and is part of a collection of Latin and Jazz songs that we recorded together called 'Silent Spaces'. It can be found in my on my website in merchandise as a physical CD.
